The Biggest Storylines from ESL Pro League Season 18

ESL Pro League Season 18 is nearly done with the Group Stage with Group D ending this Sunday.

Over the past few weeks, there have been many storylines to form from the event from Groups A through C.

The biggest story out of Pro League so far is the elimination of Heroic one of the top five teams in the world.

Heroic was able to sweep Rooster in their first game with them only winning one map the rest of the group stage.

They would be swept by MOUZ and BIG Esports with Heroic being eliminated in the last chance stage by Monte.

This marks the lowest finish at an event for Heroic since IEM Sydney 2019.

In Group A, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) and GamerLegion were both eliminated early on with Astralis, Vitality, Movistar Riders, and FURIA moving on from the group.

Group B had ENCE continuing their dominance winning all their games and qualifying past group stage. They are joined by BIG, MOUZ, and Monte in the playoffs.

The teams from Group C that are advancing are FaZe, Natus Vincere, Fnatic, and 9z.

Imperial and Apeks were both eliminated from the event in Group C.

Apeks has struggled in every event since the Paris Major not being able to get past groups in either Pro League or the play-ins for IEM Cologne.

Imperial has not been able to recapture their momentum from losing star players like FalleN and Chello to FURIA who are starting to see more success in their new team.

Group D is still underway with the favorites to win the Group being Cloud9, G2, and Team Liquid.

Some underrated teams in the Group that could sneak in are Virtus.Pro, 9INE, Eternal Fire, and Complexity could all snag that fourth spot.

You can watch Pro League on the ESL Twitch and YouTube channel.
