The Triple Threader - Mar. 20, 2023
Welcome to the Triple Threader, covering three stories from the world of professional wrestling.
Taya is All Elite
This past Wednesday, AEW Dynamite saw the debut of Taya Valkyrie, who confronted TBS Champion Jade Cargill right after the latter successfully defended her title. Valkyrie is a former Impact Knockouts World Champion and Knockouts World Tag Team Champion, and as of this writing, holds the record for holding the former title for 377 days.
Goin’ global
We stay with AEW Dynamite with the rebranding of the AEW International Championship, the new name for the All-Atlantic Championship. The reigning titleholder Orange Cassidy successfully defended his new title against Jeff Jarrett, and the latter tricks and antics to distract the “Freshly Squeezed” one.
Adding to the Supercard
Ring of Honor’s Supercard of Honor has a new match to look forward to. Mark Briscoe is set to take on Samoa Joe for the ROH World Television Championship. This is in addition to the “Reach for the Sky” ladder match for the ROH World Tag Team Titles, which Mark vacated after his brother and tag partner, Jay, passed away this past January.
