The Triple Threader - Mar. 27, 2023

Welcome to the Triple Threader, covering three stories from the world of pro wrestling.

Hot New Inductees

This year’s WWE Hall of Fame class just got hotter with some comic relief added. Model and former WCW Nitro Girl Stacy Keibler and late comedian Andy Kaufman, known for his infamous confrontation with Jerry Lawler, join The Great Muta and Rey Mysterio into the WWE Hall of Fame class of 2023. The ceremony will take place on March 31, the night before WrestleMania 39.

Speedballin’ out

Mike Bailey has his own “mania” to deal with on March 30. The former Impact Wrestling X Division Champion wrestles three matches all on the same day. His opponents will be Shigehiro Irie at Wrestlecon’s Supershow, Kota Ibushi at GCW Bloodsport 9, and Hiroshi Tanahashi at Impact and New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Multiverse United. No matter the results of either outcome, he’s sure to give new meaning to his nickname, Speedball.

Glowing somewhere else

Trinity Fatu, also known as Naomi in WWE, has confirmed through an Instagram comment that she has left the company. According to a report from Fightful, she has filed to trademark the name “Trinity Starr” for wrestling purposes. The departure stems from a walkout involving herself and Mercedes Mone’ (formerly known as Sasha Banks) at Monday Night Raw in May of last year.
