Kevin Harvick To Retire After The 2023 Nascar Cup Series Season #4Ever
At the conclusion of the 2023 season, Kevin Harvick is set to retire. From making his Cup Debut during an unprecedented time after the death of Dale Earnhardt Sr to having 23 years in Cup Series level, it would be an end of era in the Nascar Community.
Notable Highlights from Harvick’s Career
In only his third start in the Cup Series, Harvick grabbed his first career win at Atlanta in the most magical way by beating out Jeff Gordon in one of the closest finishes in Nascar history. During his celebration, he held up three fingers to honor Earnhardt Sr.
Harvick is known as being “The Closer” and “Mr. Where did he come from” in Nascar. The nickname was given to him for grabbing the lead late in races and securing victories. One of many was winning the season opener for the 2007 Nascar Cup Series Season, beating out Mark Martin in Nascar’s Crown Jewel event at the Daytona 500.
In 2014, Harvick switched Nascar teams. From starting his Cup Career in Richard Childress Racing to Stewart Haas Racing, it paid off for Harvick as he grabbed his first career Cup Series title.
In the 2020 pandemic season in Nascar, Harvick had a career high of eight wins in the Cup Series. Although he did not win the Cup Series title, he did sacrifice the Nascar Playoff System. His championship hopes were cut short in the elimination race at Martinsville.
