In an effort to achieve net-zero carbon by 2030, the race has been moved to August as opposed to September or October. This decision clusters the Japan, China, and Australian Grand Prix’s together therefore reducing the travel distance between circuits and reducing each team’s carbon emissions.

The circuit has been home to many remarkable moments with 12 drivers’ championships being settled there. Max Verstappen secured his second consecutive title at the circuit in 2022.

The Suzuka circuit is well known for its ‘S’ curves and a curve named 130R. It is both a fan and driver favorite due to the circuits figure-eight format which enables both low and high-speed corners. Additionally, news of the extension delighted fans of Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda who currently drives for Visa Cash App RB.
