IEM Katowice 2024 Group Stage Review
The Quarter-Finals have been set for the remaining six teams competing for the trophy at IEM Katowice 2024. The final six remaining teams consist of FaZe, Falcons, G2, ENCE, Team Spirit and MOUZ.
While these six teams either lived up to expectations or over performed there were teams this week that were disappointing as well. The biggest one being Vitality who failed to win a single series in the event and was eliminated after losing to Heroic in their elimination round.
Cloud9 was another team that was eliminated without winning a series only winning one map the entire event. Katowice has been a massive underperformance from many of the highest ranked teams not only in the main event but in the play-in stages as well.
In the final six, only three of the teams are ranked in the top 10 of the HLTV world rankings.
A surprise performer of the event is ENCE whose roster had been picked apart losing many of its members to different teams especially Falcons. ENCE and Falcons will play Friday in the second quarter-final game in a match where Pawel “dycha” Dycha will hope to topple three of his former teammates who left to join the Saudi Arabian organization.
Team Spirit also shocked many viewers with their complete domination only losing one map on their way to winning a bye and a lock in for the semi-finals at Katowice. Spirit beat teams like Complexity and FaZe by sweeping them 2-0 against two teams ranked in the top 10 worldwide.
MOUZ have continued their dominance by rolling all the competition that has been thrown in front of them. They clearly look like the best team in the world with their recent performances in both IEM Katowice and the PGL Major Closed Qualifiers.
