Hailey Van Lith, 20-year-old sophomore guard for the Louisville Cardinals has been the first college athlete ever to have a jersey for sale. Van Lith has stated that she first started playing basketball at the age of 6 and loved it ever since. Hailey went to Cashmere High School in Wenatchee, Washington averaging 24 points a game.
It has been said under the Name Image Likeness, NIL, rule that Hailey will be able to profit off her jersey sales. As of July 1, 2021, NIL established as new policy that allows all NCAA, D1, D2, and D3 college athletes that they can be compensated.
