Passing the Fastlane

WWE put on one wild show this past weekend in this year’s Fastlane. The premium live event included John Cena and LA Knight putting away the Bloodline, Iyo Sky escaping with her WWE Women’s Championship, a red carpet appearance from the promotion’s newest signee Jade Cargill, and Seth Rollins and Shinsuke Nakamura putting on a “Freakin’” Last Man Standing clinic to close out the program.

Comeback Personality?

8-time world champion CM Punk is reportedly in talks to return to WWE. Known for his tenure with the company from 2005 to 2014, Punk was axed from his last employer, All Elite Wrestling, after a string of incidents that overshadowed his 2021 comeback to pro wrestling. Things between the two sides have been mostly quiet, but the Second City Saint did post a seemingly cryptic message on his Instagram story depicting an excerpt from an Iron Man comic book.

Tag, You’re IT!

A couple of shocking tag team title changes took place this weekend. First on AEW Collision, “Absolute” Ricky Starks and Big Bill stunned FTR and snatched the AEW World Tag Team Championship, earning both victors their first ever title in the company. Back at WWE Fastlane, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes and “Main Event” Jey Uso win their Undisputed Tag Team crowns by defeating Finn Balor and Damien Priest of Judgment Day in a surprising upset.
