Disqualified for a Jumpsuit at the Olympics?
At the Olympic, five women in the ski jumping team were disqualified for their jumpsuits. In China, is where it all started when the officials stated that their jumpsuits didn’t comply to the Olympic rules. Sara Takanashi from Japan, Daniela Iraschko-Stolz from Austria, Katharina Althaus from Germany, and Anna Odine Stroem and Silje Opseth from Norway. Many sport directors, managers, coaches, and players had a lot of input to say. "The sport of ski jumping has experienced one of its darker days." “That is how you destroy nations, development and the entire sport." just to state a few statements.
Slovenia won gold in the event and Silver went to the Russian Olympic and won bronze to Canada. The main question is, why did they get disqualified? What was wrong with their jumpsuits? The athletes jumpsuits were reportedly too large, to the Olympic officials giving them an unfair advantage as they were in the air. Ski jumping is simulated by the exact rules that are by number variables, the athletes weight and size. My question is, how do you feel about this?
