Scuderia Visa Cash App RB, The Formula One team owned by conglomerate Red Bull Racing, faced backlash upon revealing their team’s new name. The team, formerly known as AlphaTauri, teased fans through a post made on Jan. 23 that said “B.RB.”

The new name was officially announced on Jan. 24 through an Instagram video captioned “This is what you call a hard launch.”

The new name, however, seems to have initially been leaked. The Instagram handle was changed to “VisaCashAppRB” before any announcement had been made and was quickly changed back.

Fans immediately reacted with dissatisfaction, with some hoping that the team had seen the negative reception of the name and decide to change it before the official announcement. This would have proved to be difficult as the name has to do with AlphaTauri’s sponsorship for this racing season. Additionally, Red Bull had already registered the domain “visacashapprb.com”.
