Welcome to the Triple Threader, covering three stories from the world of pro wrestling.

Royal Rumble Results

This past Saturday’s WWE Royal Rumble was arguably one to remember. This year’s event saw Cody Rhodes coming back at number 30 from a torn pectoral muscle to win the men’s match and earn a championship shot at WrestleMania 39. On the women’s side, Rhea Ripley sets a record for the longest time in the women’s match and wins the entire match, entering at number 1. Ripley will be facing Charlotte Flair on the Showcase.

Not Just a One-Off

Staying with the Rumble, Nia Jax has infamously gotten the number 30 spot as a surprise entrant in the match. This is her first appearance on WWE programming since her release from the company in November 2021.

Is Rocky Returning?

Eagle-eyed fans anticipated the return of The Rock on the Road to WrestleMania, with some believing the poster’s graphics have something to do with that. However, multiple reports and Triple H during the post-Rumble press conference say he might not be in shape in time for the Show of Shows. The People’s Champion already has XFL relaunch plans to go along with his movie schedule. Plans to ‘finally’ come back to WWE are yet to be set in stone.
