Roundup of the 2024 WNBA Draft
The 2024 WNBA Draft is coming up in less than two weeks. There will be a rapid transition following the conclusion of the women's collegiate basketball season. The Final Four is this weekend, signaling the end of March Madness and the WNBA draft is on April 15th.
The Final Four teams competing in the NCAA Division I Women's basketball tournament are South Carolina, Iowa, UConn, and N.C. State. A number of the best players still in the Final Four will be moving to new WNBA homes in the next two weeks. Caitlin Clark of Iowa is a lock to be selected with the first overall choice in the draft, but stars from a few other teams could also be selected on April 15th.
This looks to be one of the most anticipated drafts in WNBA history. Headlined by Clark who is arguably the Women’s best collegiate basketball player ever is joined by other top prospects in Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cardoso, Aaliyah Edwards, and Angel Reese amongst others. The WNBA has been overlooked for years since its inception in 1996 and has been subsidized by the NBA for some time.
