Game Recap: Angels vs. Red Sox

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim continued their losing streak after being shut out by the Red Sox, Monday night.

The Angels dominated the American League West for a majority of the season, until they began a losing streak. This losing streak has consisted of losing to the Rangers and being swept by the Blue Jays, Yankees, and Phillies.

The Red Sox (28-27) and the Angels (27-29) seem to be at an even playing ground, yet the Angels are still second in the American League West and Red Sox are second to last in the American League East. Although these teams seem like an even match, the Red Sox took the game 1-0.

Michael Wacha gave up three hits and did not allow the Angels’ to get a single run in. According to ESPN, this was Wacha’s first time throwing eight innings sice 2018.

Noah Syndergaard started off strong, only allowing one run in the second inning. Although Syndergaard pitched a good game and achieved an ERA of 1.99, the Angels’ offense was unable to keep up.

The Angels continued their losing streak even with MVPs like Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout. The Angels’ fired manager Joe Maddon after their twelfth consecutive loss.
