On Monday night, the New York Yankees traveled to Ohio where they faced off against the Cleveland Guardians. However, the attention of this game wasn’t on the close score, of 3-2. Instead it was on the bat boy standing by the Yankees dugout. Everyone, or almost everyone, knows about the Yankees appearance policy. If you are a coach, a male executive or a player for the Yankees you are not permitted to have hair that is below your collar or any other facial hair other than a mustache. Although, spectators saw something unusual during the Monday night game. During a YES Network broadcast with Michael Kay, the camera focused in on Yankees manager, Aaron Boone. But, all eyes went to the blonde hair bat boy standing next to him. Kay did not hold back when he saw the club assistant, Nate Rosenhaus, dressed in the Yankees ‘away’ uniform. Kay pointed out the Rosenhaus’s long blonde hair that went below his collar as well as his facial hair and that he was wearing red shoes rather than the navy blue normally worn by Yankees. After the game, the image and commentary of this bat boy went viral all over social media.

It was cleared up later on, that Rosenhaus is an employee for the Guardians and was placed as the bat boy for the visiting team, the New York Yankees. During Tuesday’s game, Rosenhaus was put on screen for the second time. Although, this time he did not make the same mistake twice. Rosenhaus had his hair tucked into his helmet and was wearing blue sneakers, fitting perfectly into the policy.
