Chris Sale and The Red Sox Get Good News
Ever since June 1st the Red Sox have been without their ace starter Chris Sale. In the game he started on June 1st Sale was removed after just 3 2/3 innings. Later it was revealed that he was pulled from the start with left shoulder soreness. After the first MRI it showed a stress reaction in his shoulder. Sale and the Sox got very cautious due to his injury history as of late and placed him on the 60-day IL. Now this was not ideal for the Sox as they had finally been getting good and consistent starts from Sale and all their starting pitching. However, things could be looking up for the Red Sox and Sale. As of today, June 29th, Sale got good MRI results and according to Chris Cotillo writer for MassLive, Sale is throwing without pain.
This could be huge for the Sox as they look to improve their rotation. The Red Sox this year have been the definition of mediocre with a record of 40-41. Now Sale has not been cleared for a start or even a rehab, but this is good news. Just 28 days after being pulled from his start he’s able to throw without pain. As of right now the earliest Sale can return is August 1st. In an interview with Cotillo, Sale laid out his plan to start his own version of rehab. As of right now Sale will throw every other day at Fenway to keep his arm loose and be able to keep an eye on his shoulder.
