Injury Updates:
The Mets placed RHP Colin Holderman on 10 Day IL due to right shoulder impingement. The Mets will be careful with Holderman as his velocity makes him a valuable piece of the Mets’ Bullpen. The soonest possible date for a return is June 24.
Mad Max is returning to New York to finish his rehab assignment. Scherzer has hit the four-week mark of his recovery time, meaning he could be about two to four weeks away from returning. He has already thrown bullpen sessions and might face live batters before a rehab assignment.
Cy Young pitcher Jacob DeGrom threw two bullpen sessions earlier this week and will throw a third on Saturday. He says that his scapula fracture has completely healed.
James McCann is “moving along quickly,” according to Mets’ Manager Buck Showalter. He has swung the bat a little bit and received pitches for about 10 minutes.
