If you remember anything about baseball in 2015 you must remember when God resurrected in the form of a 6’1 220 pound second basemen. He went by the name of Daniel Thomas Murphy. Daniel Murphy was always a fan favorite and played the game the right way but in 2015 he put on a historical show. Throughout the 2015 postseason he slashed .328 (19-for-58) with two doubles, seven home runs, 11 RBI, six walks and 13 runs scored in 14 games. In the NLCS, his legendary stat line was .529 (9-for-17) with one double, four home runs, six RBI and six runs scored in four games while being named NLCS MVP. Although, the Mets came up short in the fall classic his performance was not in vain. The following two years on the division rival Washington Nationals Daniel Murphy put up career numbers being named an All Star two years in a row and bringing home two silver sluggers.  

Daniel Murphy went on to put up career low numbers with the Colorado Rockies after a short stint with the Cubs then announced his retirement after his 2021 player option was declined. After two years away from the game Daniel came back o New York and signed with the Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League. With the Ducks he hit .331 in 148 AB’s and recently signed with the Los Angeles Angels to a Minor League deal. Currently hitting .284 if the Angels happen to sneak in the playoffs they can definitely use some Murphy magic.
