Phillies Top 50 Prospect Showcase Pt. 2

The Philadelphia Phillies have top prospects that are ready for the Majors and top prospects that are still trying to prove themselves to the front office and fans.

#61 Aidan Miller

Aidan Miller is a 19-year old third baseman/shortstop (3B/SS). Miller is the 3rd ranked prospect with the Philadelphia Phillies. The 19-year old has a projected Major League Baseball (MLB) ETA of 2027.

The 3B/SS was selected in the first round of the 2023 draft with pick #27.

In 2023, Miller started his season in the rookie level of the minors and ended the season at the A-level. At the rookie level, Miller played in 10 games, with 92 hits (H), 2 runs batted in (RBI), a .414 batting average (AVG), and an on-base plus slugging of 1.011 (OPS).

This was enough to move him up to the A-level where Miller played in 10 games, with 8 H, a .216 AVG, and an OPS of .638.

The 19-year old has a lot of positives despite his struggles at the A-level. The 3B/SS was able to limit his strikeouts, and make consistent contact at the plate.

Aidan Miller did not receive a Spring Training Invite this year.

#77 Justin Crawford

Justin Crawford is a 20-year old outfielder (OF), drafted in 2022 with the 18th pick in the first round. Crawford is the final top 50 prospect in the Philadelphia Phillies minor league system, with a MLB ETA of 2026.

Justin Crawford started 2023 at the A-level in the minors and ended the year at the A+ level.

At the A level, the 20-year old played in 69 games, with 276 at-bats (AB), 95 H, 60 RBI, 40 stolen bases (SB), and 51 runs scored (R) with a .344 AVG and an OPS of .877.

At the A+ level, Crawford played in 18 games with 73 AB, 21 H, 4 RBI, 7 SB, and 20 R with a .288 AVG and an OPS of .791.

The OF has elite speed in his arsenal, but also hits the ball hard, making him more than a one dimensional player. The 20-year old had a max exit velocity of 110 mph last season.

While Crawford excels at hitting the ball hard, he needs to work on the quality of his contact to succeed at the next level of the minors, and especially to succeed at the major league level.

Justin Crawford is also the son of 14-year MLB veteran Carl Crawford.

This year the 20-year old OF didn’t get a Spring training invite.
