New York Mets and Pete Alonso Avoid Arbitration
According to ESPN and MLB insider Jeff Passan, the New York Mets and Pete Alonso have agreed to a one-year, $20.5 million contract to avoid arbitration. Pete Alonso will become an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career after the 2024 season. Being one of the best power hitters in baseball and the face of the franchise, the Mets must make signing Alonso to a long-term contract extension a top priority in the offseason next year.
