The World Baseball Classic (WBC) is just around the corner, teams are gearing up to showcase some of their best players. However, there is one familiar face we will not be seeing on the field and that is Aaron Judge. If you follow baseball, you know that Judge has been one of the up and coming stars that everyone wants since he began his MLB debut in 2016. Throughout the past couple of years Judge has definitely proved his worth on the field and has created a big name for himself. Particularly, after he hit 62 home runs last season, people expected to see him at the WBC. Nonetheless, Judge has decided to put his focus on only one thing, the New York Yankees.

Since re-signing with his new nine-year contract and being given the title of the 16th official captain of the Yankees, Judge has decided he needs to be all in for his team. Returning for his 7th season, Judge is going in with the mindset of bringing home a World Series Championship for New York. It is the 13th year with no championship win, that all Yankees fans crave. With putting all focus onto his team that also means being present for the future of the Yankees. Judge is an idol for baseball players and fans and spring training will give him the opportunity to mentor these new prospective players.

Joining Judge in not participating in the WBC will be fellow teammate, Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton has the same mindset as Judge, to bring a championship win back to the Bronx.

As always, the goal for any MLB team is to win the World Series, this year the Yankees seem more into it than before. The players are putting everything into this season, making sure themselves and the new candidates are ready to defend the blue and white pinstripes. It will be interesting to see how the Yankees will perform this season and if all the dedication and effort this year will pay off.
