MIami Marlins Top 50 Prospect Showcase
Entering the 2023 the Miami Marlins were projected to have a below .500 season and they exceed this projection now in 2024 their top prospect looks to exceed his expectations.
#57 Noble Meyer
Noble Meyer is the is the Miami Marlins #1 prospect for the 2024-25 Major League Baseball (MLB) season. Meyer is a 19-year old right handed pitcher (RHP) drafted in the 1st round of the 2023 draft with the 10th overall pick.
The RHP was selected from Jesuit High School in Portland Oregon. During his time at Jesuit Noble Meyer was named Gatorade’s Oregon Player of the Year.
Meyer ended his high school career with 70 innings pitched (IP), 142 strikeouts (K), and a 0.51 earned run average (ERA).
The 19-year old started his 2023 season at the rookie level of the minors and ended it at the A-level.
At the rookie level Meyer started in 2 games, with 4 IP, 3 walks (BB), 6 K, a 1.25 walks plus hits per inning pitched (Whip), and an ERA of 4.50.
Noble Meyer played in 3 games at the A-level, going 7 IP, allowing 4 BB, 9K, with a Whip of 1.86, and an ERA of 3.86.
Meyer features a 3-pitch repertoire that starts with his mid 90s fastball that can touch triple digits at times. He also features a mid 80s change-up that he sells very well with deceptive arm speed. But his best pitch just may be his high spin mid 80s slider though.
While his pitches are elite, it’s the creativity of how he uses each pitch that makes him dangerous.
The RHP may not need much more time to become MLB ready, as he is already so advanced for his age and level at which he plays in right now.
Noble Meyer did not receive a Spring Training invite this year.
