Juan soto’s future

The headline of the day is Juan Soto turning down a monster contract from the Washington Nationals. He was offered a 15 year 440 million dollar contract. He would be making 29 million dollars a year which would make him the highest paid player in MLB history. He is a 23 year old baseball superstar who plays outfield for the Washington Nationals. He is arguably a top ten player in the game today. Juan Soto was signed by the Nationals in 2018 at 19 years old. And he has grown tremendously since then. He has 5 years in the big league and he has performed as much as you could him for. He has a career .292 batting average and a career .427 on base percentage (OBP) which is incredible plus 117 home runs and .540 slugging percentage. So what would you do if your superstar player denied a contract like this? To be honest I have no idea what I would do? The questions that I am asking myself are does he want more money or is he done with the Nationals? After winning his World Series in 2019, the Nationals have decided to trade away a lot of talent and rebuild around Soto but I do not understand why Soto would not accept this contract. My guess is he wants to be on a winning team and play his game on a winning team. The Nationals are the worst team in the NL East and have the worst record in the league at 30-62.

So what do you think is in store for Juan Soto’s future? Though the Nationals will reportedly entertain trade offers for Soto, the team doesn't have to deal him. Soto still has two years left before he hits free agency. He is eligible for arbitration in both 2023 and 2024. He will hit the free-agent market following the 2024 MLB season. Some predictions that I have are that Soto will be traded to the San Francisco Giants or the Boston Red Sox. Personally I really want to see Juan Soto go to the Boston Red Sox. I love the idea of Xander Bogaerts, Rafael Devers, Trevor Story, and Soto together. Now I want to make it clear I am not a Red Sox fan. If the Red Sox did this they would be able to compete with the Yankees. A couple more teams I could see Soto going to are the Seattle Mariners, the Toronto Blue Jays or the St Louis Cardinals. The Mariners would be an ideal spot for the young superstar. The Mariners make sense on paper. They have a good farm system. They have few long-term commitments. They have a hyperactive general manager who has every reason to push the pedal to the metal to end the sport's longest playoff drought. Would Jerry Dipoto feel comfortable parting with several of his top prospects, led possibly by some combination of shortstop Noelvi Marte and pitchers George Kirby and Matt Brash? I would love to see the team of Mitch Haniger, Adam Frazier, Eugenio Suarez, Jesse Winker, young talent Julio Rodriguez, and Juan Soto come on. That team would be dominant and would definitely give the Astros a run for their money. ) The Blue Jays, meanwhile, are led by former Guardians executives who have shown a willingness recently to hand out big contracts, but who presumably have eyes on extending their own collection of young stars, including Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette. Would they have enough money to do both, or the detachment to opt for Soto over them?It should be very interesting to see what the Nationals plan to do with this superstar talent. I guess we will have to wait and see.
