After a disappointing 2023 season, the Chicago White Sox have many questions about the future of their organization. Even though 2023 may have been disappointing as the team drastically underperformed, there are a few bright spots, including all-star outfielder Luis Robert. Robert was named a finalist for the Gold Glove Award. The 26-year-old outfielder was named a finalist with Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Jones and the Bluejays outfielder Kevin Kiermaier.

The 2023 season was Roberts's best year in his short four-year career. A once MLB top prospect has had injury issues throughout his first three seasons, allowing us to see glimpses of his potential, but he couldn't stay on the field. Over the last four years, 2023 was the first year Roberts played in more than 100 games. Defensively, Roberts has always been a premium defender when healthy; in his rookie 2020 season, Roberts won the Gold Glove Award. In 2023, Roberts had 13 Outs Above Average (OAA), which is in the 98th percentile of the league. Roberts also was tied for 2nd in Run-Value compared to other centerfielders (12).

It is unclear what the White Sox will do as an Organization, but it will be interesting to see what they do with Roberts, as he has shown he can be one of the best all-around baseball players when healthy.
