With the 32nd pick of the 2023 MLB draft the New York Mets selected SS/3B Colin Houck out of Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia. Despite being an organazition that needs pitching they went on to select the best talent that was available. The Mississippi State commit is a 55 overall grade according to MLB and shows tremendous athletic ability and bat speed.

Colin is getting comparisons to Rays legend Evan Longoria. He was a two-sport athlete in high school getting recruited by power 5 schools to be a quarterback but turned them down. The Mets look to have a right-handed power hitting third basemen like David Wright in the future and many scouts believe he can be better!
