First Place Diamondbacks Have Yet to Be Shut Out
The Arizona Diamondbacks continue their season of flare and sit atop a close NL West. Their fans should be happy to know that through over 75 games, no team has been able to shut out this dark horse squad.
Not one of the D-Backs’ 30 losses this campaign has seen a zero in the final score. The importance of losing in a sport that requires such a short memory may seem pointless, but it is important to note that this Arizona team does not ever stay cold enough to not produce runs, and they do not get put away easily.

As of June 22, the Diamondbacks are ranked 7th in run differentials (+35.0) amongst teams in the majors and 4th in the NL. They are looking like an offense right up there with the run production of previous NL postseason threats: Atlanta Braves, San Francisco Giants, and Los Angeles Dodgers. They are the other three teams currently ahead of the Diamondbacks in this statistic (ATL +102.0, SF +54.0, LAD +46.0).
Regardless of whether it’s a winning or losing effort, they are also putting up an average of 5.17 runs a game (5th) and are top five in runs batted in (RBIs) and sacrifice plays. They have the second-best team batting average in the NL with a .264. Some of the batters they can give some extra credit to are 3B Emmanuel Rivera and star rookie outfielders Dominic Fletcher and Corbin Caroll. They are all batting right at or above .300.
The Diamondbacks are becoming a force to be reckoned with in the NL West. This explosive offense scores in bunches and finds ways to stay in games. A trip to Oracle Park to face the San Francisco Giants is on their weekend agenda, and the D-Backs will be looking to make this division race even tighter for the trailing teams.
