With the MLB season just about a month in, the New York Yankees rookie, Anthony Volpe is already making strides. Making his MLB debut on March 30th, Volpe did not disappoint. During his first career appearance in the series against the Giants, Volpe had already recorded his first three stolen bases in his major league career. Now Volpe leads the Yankees with the most stolen bases, recording eight, just within one month of baseball.

On Saturday afternoon, during a home game against the Toronto Blue Jays, Volpe continued to prove himself to Aaron Boone and the rest of the team, when he hit his second home run of the season. This homer did not just give the Yankees an extra point but was a two-run home run, putting the Yankees in the lead during the bottom of the eighth, 2-0. Shortly after his impactful play, chants of his name filled the Bronx stadium, as the thousands of Yankees fans gave Volpe his first curtain call. Volpe overwhelmed with excitement didn’t really know what to do, go into the dugout? Wave to the fans? Boone motivated Volpe to go back out there and recognize the thrilled fan base, that he has gained in such a short amount of time. Undoubtedly a notorious moment in Volpe’s career, at such an early start. Over the past month he has definitely made a name for himself in the Bronx.
