Yankees Call Up Everson Pereira To MLB
As the Yankees continue to struggle down the stretch, they turn to prospect Everson Pereira to help the team bounce back. The Yankees are watching their playoff hopes dwindle as September rapidly approaches and they hope Pereira can be the spark that helps the Yankees extend their season into October.
Outfielder Everson Pereira is the Yankeesβ third best prospect and 80th best in the MLB. The 22 year old gets this call to the majors after being promoted to Triple-A earlier this season.
Between Double-A and Triple-A, Pereira has played in 81 games and has a .300 batting average this season. He has also hit 18 home runs and tallied 64 RBIs on the year. His ability to get on base is proven by his .373 on-base percentage. Pereira is also a threat once he gets on base, collecting 11 steals while only being caught twice.
Pereira has been in the Yankeesβ system since 2018, amassing 291 games in the minors. He has a total of 56 home runs and 205 RBIs in the minors with a batting average of .279.
If Everson Pereira can continue this level of play after the call up, the Yankees just might make the wild card race even tighter.
