Both Rafael Devers and Triston Casas have started off the second half of the season on fire at the dish. In Boston’s first series following the All-Star break, these two corner infielders put on a show at Wrigley Field, combining for six home runs in three games. The explosive offense of the Red Sox allowed them to take two of three games against the Cubs, giving Boston the series win in Chicago.

In Boston’s first game back, Triston Casas took Kyle Hendricks deep to center in the top of the fourth inning. This solo shot was Casas’ 10th home run on the year and his second hit of the game. Boston would go on to win the game 8-3.

Casas struck again at the plate in the second game of the series, hitting a two run home run in the top of the seventh inning. The 425 ft deep home run came scorching off the bat at 112 mph. Unfortunately this was not enough for the Red Sox as they fell to the Cubs, 10-4.

In the rubber match of the series, Triston Casas would once again go deep, hitting a home run in three consecutive games. This two run home run helped pad Boston’s lead as they would secure the win 11-5.

In the series, Triston Casas went 4-9 with three home runs and five runs batted in.

Rafael Devers wasted no time making his presence felt in the second half of the season, hitting a solo home run in his first at-bat. In his second plate appearance, Devers would once again take Kyle Hendricks deep, launching his second homer on the night.

In the second game of the series, Rafael Devers would collect another extra-base hit, hitting a double.

Like his teammate Triston Casas, Devers hit his third home run of the series in the third and final game. He would finish the night with his second multi-hit game of the series.

In the series, Rafael Devers went 6-13 with three home runs and three runs batted in.

Masataka Yoshida also had a notable performance in the last game of the series. Yoshida’s three hit game featured a grand slam. His six RBI performance was instrumental in allowing Boston to clinch the series win.
