The New York Yankees suffered a massive blow to their bullpen. According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, sources say Michael King fractured his right elbow and is expected to miss the rest of the 2022 season. King walked around gingerly after throwing a ball in the dirt against Ramon Urìas in the eighth inning.

The 27-year-old right-hander has played a vital role in the Yankees having one of the best bullpens in baseball. King had a spectacular season with a 2.29 ERA in 51 innings pitched along with 66 strikeouts and an ERA+ of 166. King joins Chad Greene, who had an abrupt ending to the season needing Tommy John surgery.

The Yankees will now need to shuffle around to see who can step up in high-leverage situations. According to MLB.com, the Yankees have the best ERA in the American League & third-best ERA (3.16) in all of baseball, only behind the Dodgers & Astros.
