Cincinnati Reds 2021 Season Overview
The Cincinnati Reds had a rollercoaster of a season. After being one of the hottest teams in baseball, they end up with another mediocre season. Cincinnati had a season they would rather forget, after showing signs of being a deep playoff contender, they fell off and ended with an 83-79 record for the season. Few expected the Reds to compete the way they did, but also few expected the reds to have one of the best offenses in the league. Reds also had some of the worst pitchings from their bullpen all throughout the season but also had some of the best hittings in the league. After the first two months of the regular season, the Reds seem to have of calm down and become in a groove of a team that could really compete. They were always a team that could compete and keeps a game close.
Cincinnati bullpen is one of the major factors towards the second-half collapse. After taking over the second wild-card spot, their downfall came into the plan. The Reds are as hot as any team after taking over the playoff spot but ending up losing consecutive series and ending up in a disappointing season. Cincinnati has a lot to be excited about, after extending David Bells’ contract a few years. The Reds seem like they will have continuing success on offense, but their biggest flaw is the bullpen and consistent pitching. As a Reds fan myself, I am as excited as ever for pitchers and catchers to report.
