For the fifth time in two weeks, the Milwaukee Brewers take a win away from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

In the bottom of the second, the Rookie second baseman Nick Gonzales hit his second career home run, driving in Josh Palacios.

The lead did not last for the Pirates as William Contreras hit a three-run home run off of Rich Hill to left-center field, giving the Brewers the lead they would not relinquish.

The Brewers would get another two runs thanks to an error from the Pirates pitcher Ryan Borucki plus an RBI single to follow. The game ended with Devin Williams, The Brewers only All-Star selection retired the side in order.

Following the game Williams was given the news.

Brewers starter Colin Rea pitched into the sixth for the Brewers, giving up five hits and two runs with three strikeouts.

Pirates pitcher Rich Hill took the hard-luck loss as he went five innings, giving up three runs on only three hits while striking out eight.

As of July 2nd, the Brewers record is 45-39 good for second in the division, while the Pirates are 39-44, good for third.
